Mentorship and Peer Coaching

The IGDN offers two programs to help game designers learn from the accumulated wisdom of the network.

Mentorship Program

The mentorship program is designed for individuals just getting started as independent game designers. Mentorship may be offered to applicants who show promise but are not ready to be full members of IGDN. A person taking part in the mentorship program will be matched with an experienced IGDN member as a mentor. The mentor and mentee will read a series of articles on aspects of the business of game design, and meet with each other via video chat to discuss the topics. A person who successfully completes the mentorship program will be able, with the blessing of their mentor, to re-apply for IGDN membership 6 months after their original application.

Peer Coaching Program

The peer coaching program is a service offered to members of the IDGN. Participants are matched with a peer coach, and meet over video chat to share their knowledge of the business of game design. To learn more about the peer coaching program, contact the resources coordinator.
