Gen Con 2014 Indie Game Showcase

IGSbanner

This year, the IGDN returned to the Gen Con exhibitors hall with a refined focus: showcase the latest and greatest independent role playing games.

IGDNbooth

Booth4v2We established the Indie Game Showcase to do just that. Between the ever-busy booth, a popular destination in the main hall, the IGDN also put together a game room where independent games were being run at all hours of the day.
Both the exhibitor booth and the game room were a huge success for us which was both incredibly humbling and incredibly exciting. The interest in the booth’s products and the sheer number of return customers turned this Gen Con

GRoom1v22014 into the IGDN’s largest and most profitable convention to date.

We would like to give a big shout out to everyone who stopped by the booth to chat with the workers or to get the quick pitch and demo some of our available games. It is because of you and your interest in independent games that all of us at the IGDN are able to do what we do!

Special thanks to IPR for lending us grid-wall!

Special thanks to IPR for lending us grid-wall!

This kind of success will allow us to return to the 2015 convention season with an even bigger and more effective presence. We have great things in store at the IGDN and we can’t wait to share them with you, when the time is right!

So until then, have a great year and we’ll see you all at Gen Con 2015!

Bunny Money Gunny at GenCon!

Glittercats Fine Amusements to release Early Edition of Bunny Money Gunny at GenCon

Glittercats Fine Amusements is happy to announce that an “early edition” of our first game, Bunny Money Gunny, will be available for sale through the IGDN booth at GenCon 2014.

BMG-tight

Bunny Money Gunny is a fast-paced, back-stabbing mini-game for three players who must hop, blast, and cash in on their way to victory. The game was designed by Stentor Danielson, with art by Cynthia Lee.

We hope that a strong showing at GenCon will provide the impetus to bring a revised and expanded edition of Bunny Money Gunny to Kickstarter in 2015.

THE TENTACLE CAT RETURNS…

Announcing the release of

Call of Catthulhu Deluxe, Book I: THE NEKONOMIKON.

CoCAT-I-Cover

At GENCON 2013, veteran gamesmith Joel Sparks introduced a five-dollar, 24-page booklet titled CALL OF CATTHULHU. The featherweight RPG allows players to become ordinary cats who must oppose the Lovecraftian plots of chaotic Animal Cults bent on destroying the comforts of human civilization. A surprise hit, Catthulhu sold out at Gencon, then again at Baltimore Comic-Con, NecronomiCON Providence, and Spiel Essen in Germany.

In November, Sparks ran a Kickstarter to develop a greatly expanded “deluxe” edition, and the project funded at over $40,000: 2,000% of the original budget. Stretch goals unlocked include a Boxed Set crammed with extras and the appearance of backers’ real-life pets as illustrated heroes and monsters in the Deluxe rule books.

Months of work later, the first element of Call of Catthulhu Deluxe is unveiled this weekend at AwesomeCon DC: THE NEKONOMIKON (The Book of Cats). This full-color volume contains everything needed to play Call of Catthulhu, from 30 different types of cat characters to Dire Challenges, Scrapping, and Brushes with Death.

Book II: UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KATZEN (The Cat Herder’s Guide) will appear in May, with more about gods, cults, adventures, and Things Cats Were Not Meant to Know. The complete CALL OF CATTHULHU DELUXE ships first to Kickstarter backers, and will be available to everyone at Origins 2014, June 11-15. Learn more at Catthulhu.com.

The Indie Mine

The Indie Mine talking about the IGDN at Gencon:

IndieMine

“Truman and his merry band of independent game designers stood shoulder-to-shoulder with big, established game publishers at Gen Con. From their booth, the IGDN offered product demonstrations and sales in the same environment as Wizards of the Coast, Chaosium and Steve Jackson Games.”
