Ben Woerner of WunderWerks Publishing announced today that he is launching the Kickstarter for his new role-playing game, A World of Dew.
This table top role playing game is a sequel to John Wick’s hit RPG Blood & Honor. A World of Dew draws inspiration from Japanese Chambara films, movies like the 47 Ronin, and Memoirs of a Geisha, and game design inspiration from the Dresden Files, Houses of the Blooded, and Legend of the Five Rings.
In this Samurai Noir RPG players take on the roles of Geisha, Sumo Wrestlers, Gaijin, Ronin, and more. The game is set during the Tokugawa Shogunate, a time of warring ideals between the old and new. Instead of playing in clans like in Blood & Honor or Legend of the Five Rings players design a vibrant city to explore with unique locations and threats that become the backbone of the campaign. The book is filled with gorgeous artwork from some of the greatest masters of Japanese woodblock printing like Hokusai, Hiroshige, and more.
The Kickstarter launch offers a wide range of backer levels and scads of rewards. Starting as low as $10 for the PDFs of both A World of Dew andBlood & Honor and going as high as $3,000 there is a tier for everyone. The rewards are no less extensive: PDFs, softback copies, custom dice, limited edition hardbacks, stone Honor markers, hachimaki headbands, custom happi coats, custom character rewards, and more. The Kickstarter shares both a quick overview of the rules as well as some of the fantastic art that will be appearing in the book. It will run until early June.
