2016 had its highs and lows, but now 2017 is here, and with it comes some changes to the Indie Game Developer Network. Following the elections in December 2016, the IGDN has elected a new leadership team for two-year terms, starting January 2017.
The IGDN accomplished a lot last year, such as introducing the Indie Groundbreaker Awards and expanding our presence at GenCon. We were also able to send SEVEN new designers to Metatopia with the IGDN Metatopia Diversity Scholarship. Our year is starting out with some fresh faces and new ideas, both in the membership list as well as on the Leadership Team. The Indie Game Developer Network has a new slate of board officers:
President – Michelle Lyons-McFarland
Treasurer – Brennan Taylor
Membership Coordinator – Ryan Schoon
Convention Coordinator – Matthew McFarland
Marketing Coordinator – Steve Radabaugh
Retail Coordinator – Jason Pitre
Resource Coordinator – Sarah Richardson
Michelle, Brennan, Ryan and Matthew were all elected into office by the IGDN membership, while Steve, Jason, and Sarah hold positions that are appointed by the President as according the the IGDN By-Laws. All positions are a two year commitment.
The IGDN extends special thanks to those who are stepping off of the board: Eloy Lasanta, Mark Diaz-Truman, Marissa Kelly, and Stentor Danielson. Thank you all so much for your work!
The new Leadership Team has already had its first meeting, and we’re looking forward to seeing what more we can accomplish this year!
